-
- WHAT?
-
- DCal gives the current Discordian date.
-
-
- WHA?
-
- See:
-
- Principia Discordia <http://www.cs.cmu.edu/~tilt/principia/> OR
- HyperDiscordia <http://jubal.westnet.com/hyperdiscordia/>.
-
- These pages will answer all your questions; indeed, they will answer
- questions you will ruefully wish had been left just lying quietly in
- the parts of your brain slightly south of your pineal gland.
-
-
- WHY?
-
- Witnessin' for Eris.
-
-
- WHO?
-
- His Pontification Saint Ron the Second Draft, Speaker to Greyface, AKA
- Ron Hale-Evans <rwhe@apocalypse.org>.
-
-
- WHERE?
-
- You can probably find this program online at places like
-
- <http://www.palmgear.com/>
-
- You can probably also find it at
-
- <http://www.apocalypse.org/~rwhe/projects.html>
-
- Also, you can find it wherever you found it. But you already knew
- that. You silly.
-
-
- WHERE ELSE?
-
- The General Frenetics Discordian Warez Server at
- <http://www.pdi.net/~eristic/erisware.html> has a Discordian clock
- called Klock, among other nifty things. (An entire Discordian
- timekeeping system!) Klock is not available for the Palm yet, so I
- hope to incorporate a Klock feature into a future version of DCal.
-
-
- HOW?
-
- Just HotSync the file dcal.prc to your Palm (not your palm). Tap the
- Golden Apple icon and you'll see today's Discodate (not today's disco
- date). The only other thing you can do is choose "About" from the
- "Options" menu. It tells you what you're looking at, but you should
- already know that. You silly.
-
- It's small and simple. It doesn't do much, so there aren't many ways
- it can break. Even though it is only version 0.5, it has passed the
- Trial of 10,000 Gremlins, so use it in the name of Eris and do not
- fear, my child.
-
-
- HOW ELSE?
-
- Written with GNU GCC for the Palm OS under Debian GNU/Linux 2.1. A
- bunch of the code was stolen from the Palm application Oblique
- Strategies by Dave McLeod and Lonnie Foster, also under the GNU
- GPL. See <http://tribble.dreamhost.com/pilot.html>.
-
-
- WHAT ELSE?
-
- 1. Add a Klock feature (see WHERE ELSE?).
-
- 2. Add date conversion capabilities (to and from Discodates and
- mundane dates).
-
- I plan to do this soon, but you can do it too, since the program is
- GPLed. Let me know if you do. And don't forget to give
- <http://www.gnu.org/> and <http://www.debian.org/> a visit -- they're
- our last defenses against Greyface.
-
-
- WHEN?
-
- Version 0.5 was released on Setting Orange, 23 Aftermath 3165 (hey,
- it's the weekend!) or Thursday, 11 November 1999 mundane.
